Music for our trailer

Music is a n important part of our trailer as I discovered from my research, it is what sets the mood of the trailer and is in a lot of cases what makes the trailer of film actually scary/happy etc. This is why we need to get the music right so that people watch the trailer and understand it is a thriller/horror trailer. As it is a thriller/horror trailer, the music we use needs to have a creepy, dark sound to it.

One of the first songs we have thought about is called 'Madhouse' by Rihanna,  it is only 1 minute, 35 seconds long, this is ideal for our trailer as we do not want our trailer to be more thatn 2 minutes long anyway. The tempo of the song fits just right as it isnt too quick but isnt too slow, it isnt obvisouly a song that you would relate to horror but i think put to a horror/thriller trailer, it would match. It is likely that we will use this song as it fits perfectly with our trailer and I think it will capture attention if someone over hears it.  I have added this song onto my blog so you can hear it and see what you think.

I have also found some other songs that I think we could consider for our trailer. It is called  The Ligeti Requiem for Soprano. Its is a piece of classical music and when I first listened to it, it did genuienly sound creepy. I think this could have worked if we had used the first minute or so of the song as it does get very classical after then and for me does not sound as scary then and it less effective. I think the way that it is very slow and has creepy, strange noises at the start of it could match our trailer very well.

Here is another song i thought could work but having listened to it a few times I'm not too sure, I think it could be spooky but is maybe not right for our trailer. I think this is down to the fact that it is a maybe a little too qucik and I am not sure if I like the strange noises in it.

Here are a few songs that we came up with as a group for other parts in the film and I personally don't think any of these would be right for the trailer:

Alexandre Desplat – New Moon

Minerva - Deftones

My Chemical Romance - I Dont Love You

Rihanna- Madhouse

Nany Sinatra - Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down)

Evanescence - Bring Me To Life

My Chemical Romance - Famous Last Words
